We carry various types of scooters and now will try to assist you in choosing the best scooter for you.
Electric Scooters:
Some of the features to compare are Wattage, weight limit, tire type, tire size, weight, seat or not,cost, and folding capability. When comparing electric scooters be sure to compare the previously mentioned characteristics. If you are going to be riding on gravel, or rough terrain you definitely will want wider tires, or larger tires. The wattage is important to know for power comparison. If you live in areas with terrain that
has lots of hills you will want more wattage. Most scooters are rated for approx. a 150 lb person on a 5 degree incline or less. So riding on terrain with a higher incline or if you weigh more than 150lbs then the distance before re charge is needed will decline. Most of our scooters can carry a person heavier than suggested weight yet you may not be satisfied with the performance of the scooter in speed, and distance. Most of our scooters do fold down for easy storage, this
is especially important for RV users, and boaters so please check for this ability. Also weight you want to be able to lift your scooter into its place of storage.
Electric Bikes :
In general you should look for wattage, cost, weight limit, weight, and whether battery is portable, and foldable.
Currently we do not offer ones that re-charge while pedaling, though our manufacturers engineers are working on this as you read this.
Gas Scooters:
This type can usually be compared by engine size, drive system, tires, and cost. The advantage of this type is the ability to deliver greater speed, and power to get up a higher incline. We do not carry parts
to modify the power of these engines as we feel to do so may present unknown dangers for the user. These were made and tested by the factory with a stock motor and modifying the engine in anyway
may result in unknown and dangerous results, so we do not encourage this. Our basic gas model is a very nice, solid unit and priced very affordablly.
Please be aware of the tire sizes and purchase according to your expected terrain. Be aware some cheaper models have a direct drive system, THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS. The direct drive means the motor wants to keep going when you wish to stop. Our design utilizes a chain drive centrifugal clutch system. What this means is the tire does not turn until the motor has reached a certain RPM. While standing still our vehicle does not try to move forward. Direct drive systems will
want to keep going forward and this could be dangerous
in a busy intersection.
